3MT 2025
Congratulations to the winners of Loyola's 2025 Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition! is a competition in which students are given three minutes to effectively explain their research to a non-specialist audience. This competition, developed by the University of Queensland, celebrates students' academic, presentation and research communication skills.
Our first place winner was Danieli Mercado Ramos, a master's student in Developmental Psychology, who presented on "Language Influence in the Experiences of Latinx Bilingual College Students in a Predominantly White Institution". Mercado Ramos will go on to compete in the regional 3MT competition taking place at the annual Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools (MAGS) conference in April 2025. Mackenzie Smith from the department of Molecular Pharmacology & Therapeutics and Kristen Young from the department of Molecular & Cancer Biology tied for second place.
